Bringing many of the world’s greatest artists right into the classroom
The Soapbox Education program will be launching in Los Angeles area schools later this year, leveraging the latest AR / VR technology to bring many of the world’s greatest artists right into the classroom as life-size three-dimensional holograms. Students will learn directly from these artists, viewing demonstrations and performances up-close, and hearing each artist’s unique story on the challenges faced in pursuing and building a career in the arts.
Curriculum content is designed to inspire and motivate students to achieve their own goals while strengthening their reading, writing, music history, technology, and media arts skills in a unique and engaging format!
Soapbox curriculums were designed to address Common Core Standards as well as National Core Arts Standards and National Association of Music Educator Standards.
Each artist’s story is crafted into a curriculum built personally by Rory Pullens, former CEO of The Duke Ellington School of the Arts and former Senior Executive Director of Arts Education for the Los Angeles Unified School District. The curriculums explore each artist in depth, from their initial influences and performance techniques, to their impact on music and culture and their legacy for the future.
Schools will license the content annually creating a new and ongoing revenue stream for artists and their teams.
Soapbox has been invited by the Arts Schools Network Committee to speak and present at the Kennedy Center this October for many of the thought leaders in Arts Education nationwide. After our initial pilot program in Los Angeles, we will expand quickly to schools nationwide.
